Paul Sanit, Varsity Head Coach
Greg Parkington, Varsity Defensive and Goalie Coach
Greg grew up playing lacrosse in Maryland year round through middle school and high school. He was goalie for all 4 years while at the University of Arizona. While there, the team qualified for 3 National Championship tournament berths. In 2001 and 2002, he was Arizona team president, and in 2002 he was team captain. Also in 2002, he was selected for the pre-season All-USLIA team (now MCLA). He has been a goalie coach for 2 years at Arizona Holiday Lacrosse Camp. He graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration and is currently seeking a Master's degree in the same field. He is an avid runner and fitness fanatic, and participates in running events up to the half marathon level. When he's not coaching or working, he's either at the gym, playing a variety of outdoor sports or watching them on TV.
Stephen Milano, Assistant Varsity Coach
Stephen Milano starts his first year with Poway Lacrosse as the assistant coach. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and grew up playing three sports, lacrosse, soccer, and basketball at C. Milton Wright High School. Milano continued playing lacrosse in college and was a midfielder and face –off specialist with the Marymount Saints from 1998-99 and 2001. During each of his three year collegiate career, the team had three winning seasons with a record of 32-18 and ranked as high as 10th in the NCAA Division III for the first and only time in school history. Individually, he set three school scoring records, was a two-time All-CAC, 2001 All-American and elected to the North-South Game. Milano graduated from Marymount with a bachelor's degree in graphic design. Stephen currently works as the Sr. Graphic Designer for Sprint Nextel and lives in Banker’s Hill, San Diego.
Tim McGarry, Junior Varsity Head Coach
Tim began playing lax in Jr High on Long Island New York. He played through sophomore year at Lindenhurst NY, Defense until his family moved to the SF Bay Area, as played with Cal Berkely Grad lax club team during his last two years in high school. Upon graduation Tim went to UC Davis to wrestle Div 2, and he found lax there, joined the UC Davis Mens’ Lax club team playing defense, where he played for Coach Bill Ritch Jr. 2x All American Army Lax player, son of Hall of Fame HS lax coach Bill Ritch Sr. At UCD Tim as a Team Captain, 3 time WCLL All Star, runner up Defenseman of the Year 84 for the WCLL and was selected to participate in the 1984 Olympic Lacrosse exhibition games on the USA West team in Los Angeles. After graduation, he played for Golden Gate Mens Lacrosse Team in San Francisco. In 1991 Tim and his wife moved to SD, where he later started a Middle School Lacrosse Club for his son and best friend son. Two years later Tim moved his family to Poway, and became Head Coach for Poway Youth Lacrosse, 3 years and now is a PHS Coach. Tim also has been refereeing lacrosse since 1989 and is a certified college official, refereeing NCAA Division 2 and 3 mens lacrosse as well as MDIA college club lacrosse. Lastly Tim is a certified official’s clinician, training officials at the college level.
Matt Green, JV Offensive Coach
Matt is a native of Orange County where he played lacrosse for Irvine High School. While there, his team won two county championships (in 1994 and 1997), and he was selected for the all-county team all four years. Matt was voted Attackman of the Year twice, in 1996 and 1998. In 1996, he was a member of the Eltham Lacrosse Club in Melbourne, Australia. By invitation, he toured with them throughout the United States in 1998. Also in 1998, Matt was named a High School All-American and a National All-Star. In College, Matt played for the University of Arizona. Their team made it to the USILA National Championship in 1999. He was also honored by being named to the 2000 Goodwill Games Team USA West in 2000. In 2006, Matt finished a six year tour with the Navy. He returned to Southern California at the end of his enlistment and helped coach the Mission Viejo High School Varsity Program until he joined us here at Poway.
